Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Compound and dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals according to department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Check all medication for accuracy and appropriateness before dispensing and delivery.
Job Description
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. An advanced degree, such as a PharmD, M.S., or MBA, is preferred.
Licensure
Licensure to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required by the hire date.
Experience
At least two to three years of related experience is required. QS1 experience is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of the procedures, systems, and equipment used by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, with a high level of proficiency in pharmacist duties and responsibilities.
- Strong analytical ability, organizational and personal-management skills, and sustained attention to pharmacy operations.
- Experience working with, revising, and/or implementing information systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills, with professional conduct and demeanor.
- Proficiency with standard healthcare-office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers.
